Peru tries to confirm his good round against Czech Republic

MATSUMOTO, June 2, 2011 (AFP) - The Peruvian national team, which on Wednesday drew 0-0 with Japan after a great match in which the South Americans were superiors, will attempt to confirm the good phase this Saturday ( 6AM GMT) in a new fiendly in the Nipponese lands against the Czech Republic.
The match will be the second duel of the Kirin Cup, a friendly competition in which the Peru were champions twice, splitting the title with Belgium in 1999 and with  the UAE in 2005. For the South American team will be the last meeting, while the Czechs still face the Japaneses in the next Tuesday.
The Uruguayan coach of Peru, Sergio Markarian, seemed to find a good formula in the first match played in Niigata, where his players deserved the victory, enjoy the best opportunities and failed only in the execution due to many shots off target, and even missing luck.
In the team stood out players such as Luis Ramirez, Raul Ruidiaz, Rinaldo Cruzado and the debutter Christian Cueva, very active to boost the offensive game, but the best news for the Peruvians was the return of Jefferson Farfan, after having been away since October 2010 for indiscipline.
The Schalke 04 striker did not scored any goals, but the Japanese defenders forced the extra effort to mark him, knowing that the player is called to be the leading reference in the plans of the 'Magician' Markarian.
"The two teams split the ball, but we had many chances. We could have won the match but we did not win because Japan has adapted well to different circumstances that lived in the match," Markarian said after the match on Wednesday against Japan.
A victory against the Czechs would take the team to a good position to win the Kirin Cup, but would strenght all the confidence before facing the great challenge of the year, the Copa America in July, where the team will play in the first round against Uruguay , Mexico and Chile.
During this "Markarian era," the Peruvian team was able to won matches against Panama (1-0), Costa Rica (2-0), Jamaica (2-1) and Canada (2-0), with three draws with Ecuador (0-0), Columbia (1-1) and Japan (0-0) and one defeat, for Panama (1-0).
