La Volpe does not have unanimous support while he prepares Costa Rica to the Copa America

SAN JOSE, June 20, 2011 (AFP) – The Costa Rica national team coach,  Argentinean Ricardo La Volpe, does not  have unanimous support anymore, after the a poor showing in the Concacaf’s Gold Cup, where he got eliminated by Honduras, before playing in the Copa America in Argentina.
The sportive press of Costa Rica, who used to favor of La Volpe since he started as coach of the ‘Tricolor’ last November, began criticizing him, remembering the Argentinean had said he wished to be champion of the tournament.
Costa Rica lost on Saturday 4-2 in the penalty shoot-out against Honduras, in the quarterfinals, after a 1-1 draw.
La Volpe said this Sunday he hopes to have a better showing in the Copa America. He will not be able to use the European foreign players, just a squad of U-23 players in its majority.
“I think we are good, but we will see if we have what it takes when playing this tournament”, said La Volpe.
