Claudio Pizarro: Peru has players to do a great work in the Copa America 2011

LIMA, June 15, 2011 (AFP) – The Peruvian national team has players with great potential to do well in the 2011 Copa America in Argentina, and has the potential to be chosen as one of the teams that will play in the 2014 FIFA World Cup, affirmed the forward Claudio Pizarro.
“In Peru there are lots of players with conditions to do great work in the competition and to achieve our main goal, the spot in the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil”, said Pizarro, captain of Peru and top scorer for Werder Bremen, from Germany.
He also defended that the most experienced players who played outside Peru, such as Juan Vargas, Jefferson Farfán, Santiago Acasiete, Paolo Guerrero and Albeerto Rodríguez have set a goal to go as far as they can in the Copa America. “We are an example to the younger generation and we must be impeccable,” he stated.
On June 28, the Peruvian team will face Senegal in the Alejandro Villanueva stadium, in Lima, as the last preparatory match before the tournament. On the following day, Markarián will present the list of the 23 players who will play to the competition.
