Colombia’s President, Santos gave the country’s flag to the national team as support to the Copa America


June 16, 2011 – Right after the practice of the national team, this Thursday, the group went to the Praça de Armas da Casa de Nariño (the official President’s place), where received by the President of the Republic, Juan Manuel Santos Calderón, the flag of the country as a support to the 2011 Copa America, in Argentina.
The coach Hernán Darío Gómez and the captain of the team, Mario Alberto Yepes, in the name of the entire squad, as the president of the Colombian Football Federation, Luis Bedoya, received the flag that represents the country’s colors and the passion of the 46 million Colombians who will be watching for the team all the time.
“This flag is full with happiness of the Colombians and feeds the hope of a country that wants a very good participation in the Copa America”, said the President in the event celebrated in the Government’s house.
This Friday, the goalkeeper Breiner Castillo will join the squad to the eighth training, after five days of preparation to the 2011 Copa America.
