Juan Vargas is doubt to play the 2011 Copa America because of an injury

LIMA, June 16, 2011 (AFP) – The midfielder Juan Vargas, one of the players of the Peru’s national team that will participate of the 2011 Copa America, suffered an muscular injury this Wednesday that can take him out of the competition, informed the Peruvian Football Federation.
Vargas, a Fiorentina’s player, has a “small muscular injury” after presenting a problem in his right leg, said the FPF in a communicated.
“Today, during the training session, Juan Vargas felt a contracture in his right leg”, said Julio Segura, the doctor of the national team.
The player, who is a figure in the first team and very important to the coach Sergio Markarián, initiated immediately a recovery treatment to be able to play the 2011 Copa America, in the beginning of July.
Sergio Markarián, Peru’s coach, is worried about the injury. “We did a resonance exam and it is confirmed what we think. It will be hard for him to play the Copa America, and we are about to announce the list”.
