MONTEVIDEO, June 14, 2011 (AFP) – The Uruguayan defender Diego Godín, who plays in Atlético de Madrid (SPA), suffered an injury, but is still expected to play in the Copa America 2011 next month, informed the Uruguay’s national team’s medical staff.
Godín was injured during training last Friday afternoon. The exams confirmed “an injury in the left muscle adductor, said the medical staff responsible for the Celeste, Alberto Pan, on the website El Observador.
Moreover, this Monday two other players were capped to the national team: the goalkeeper Martín Silva, from Defensor Sporting, and the defender Sebastián Coates, from the National, informed Martías Faral, Uruguay’s press.
The new called up players shall present themselves this Tuesday in the complex of the Uruguayan Football Association (AUF).
