Peru begins training to Copa Kirin in Japan


LIMA, May 24th 2011 (AFP) – The Peruvian football team begins on this Tuesday the preparatory trainings to the competition of the next Copa Kirin in Japan,  from June 1st to June 7th , informed the Peruvian Football Federation.

“ It is a pride play Copa Kirin and against rivals such as we’ll face, in high level, we will see some alternatives and play well”, said to the press the Peruvian team coach, the Uruguayan Sergio Markarián.

The training happened in Vila Deportiva (Videna) of Peruvian Football Federation, with the 16 summoned players who play in the country,  while awaiting the arrival of five players who play abroad summoned by the coach Markarián.

In the first training session, the Uruguayan coach was pleased with the performance of the midfielder Christian Cueva from San Martín and the forward Raúl Ruildáz, from Universitario, which may be the offensive duble in Japan.

Markarián summon Five “legionnaires”,  the highlight is Jefferson Farfán, from Schalke 04-Germany, who return to Peruvian team after being out for a while for indiscipline. The others are: Santiago Acasiete (Almería-Spain), Josepmir Ballón (River Plate-Argentina), Giancarlo Carmona (San Lorenzo-Argentina) and Luis Ramírez (Corinthians-Brazil).

In Copa Kirin, that Will happen due 1June 1st and June 7th, and Peru will face Czec Republic and the local team.

The inca team won this championship in 1999, coached by the peruvian Juan Carlos Oblitas.

Durante a era do “Mago” Markarián, a seleção peruana conseguiu quatro vitória em amistosos contra Panamá (1-0), Costa Rica (2-0), Jamaica (2-1) e Canadá (2-0); dois empates contra Equador (0-0) e Colômbia (1-1); e uma derrota contra Panamá (1-0).

During the “Mago” Markarián age, the Peruvian team managed to win in four matches against Panama (1-0), Costa Rica (2-0) , Jamaica (2-1) and Canada (2-0); two draws against Ecuador (0-0) and Colombia (1-1); and one defeat against Panama (1-0).
