Brazil remains in third position, but sees Germany come closer


PARIS, May 18th 2011 (AFP) – Germany, fourth in world ranking by FIFA, had 27 points more than Brazil, which is the third in the ranking. Even with the approach of Germany, Brazil’s team follows behind Netherlands which is the second and Spain that remains the best football team in the world.

In the ranking published on Wednesday did not change between the first 10 teams, where Argentina remains in fifth and Uruguay in seventh place. But among the top best twenty, Chile and Japan switched the positions, coming in 13th and 14th, respectively.

Among the Latin American countries, Mexico was down two places, going to the 28th place, after losing 16 points, now totaling 802. The worst fall was the Equator team, which fell eight places to be now the 64th.

They also lost one position each, Colombia (50th), Costa Rica (56th) and Venezuela (68th)
